# Behavior Implementation Design
## When to Use This Skill
Use this skill when:
- Golden Behaviors have already been selected
- You need to make behaviors easier to perform
- You need to find effective prompts/triggers for behaviors
- Working with individuals or groups on habit formation
## Prerequisites
- Golden Behaviors identified
- Understanding of the Ability Chain framework
## Step 4: Make the Behavior Easy
### For Group Facilitation (Ringleader)
1. Ask the group: "What makes this behavior hard to do?"
2. Audit the Ability Chain for weak links:
- **Time**: Is there enough time?
- **Money**: Are there financial barriers?
- **Mental Effort (Brainpower)**: Does it require too much thinking?
- **Physical Effort**: Is it physically demanding?
- **Routine Conflict**: Does it clash with existing habits?
3. Implement solutions to strengthen weak links:
- Provide checklists for mental effort
- Change environment for physical effort
- Remove friction points
### For Individual Coaching (Ninja)
1. Ask: "What makes it hard?"
2. If the obstacle is vague (e.g., "no time"), ask specific hypotheticals:
- "What if it only took 10 minutes?"
3. Redesign the environment to make starting effortless:
- Place yoga mat out the night before
- Prepare materials in advance
- Remove barriers to initiation
## Step 5: Find the Prompt (Anchoring)
### For Group Facilitation (Ringleader)
1. Ask the group: "Where in your existing schedule does this fit best?"
2. Encourage using existing routines as anchors (Action Prompts)
3. Avoid relying on:
- People (who may forget)
- Generic reminders (which are easy to ignore)
### For Individual Coaching (Ninja)
1. Ask: "What would be a good cue for this?"
2. Observe successful early adopters
3. Find the pattern they use and suggest the group adopt it
- Example: Placing a list on the keyboard before lunch
## Key Constraints
- Single actions vs. habits require different ease adjustments
- Prompts should be integrated into existing routines
- Focus on making the START of the behavior effortless
## Output
Behaviors redesigned for ease and anchored to specific prompts/triggers.
