Data processing

Book2Skill privacy and file handling

This page explains how uploads, external model processing, email sign-in, analytics, and payments are used.

Uploaded PDFs

Files are used for text extraction, Skill generation, result delivery, and troubleshooting. Only upload material you have the right to process. Do not upload unauthorized personal data, trade secrets, or highly sensitive material.

External model processing

Extracted text is sent to the configured model provider to identify candidate skills, merge overlap, and repair structure. Use a local workflow when material must not leave your controlled environment.

Email sign-in and notifications

Your email is used for one-time sign-in codes, task ownership, result delivery, and completion notifications you request by signing in after upload.

First-party analytics

We record page views, attribution, and key conversion events. The analytics table does not retain raw IP addresses; crawlers are reported separately from human traffic.

Payments

When payments are enabled, Stripe hosts checkout and processes payment details. Book2Skill stores an order identifier, status, amount, currency, and the email associated with the order; it does not receive full card numbers.

Visibility

New user results are private by default. A collection is listed publicly only after its owner changes its visibility.
